Two weeks ago, Ensay's platelet count decreased a little. Even though the doctors said that is nothing to worry about we still worried a bit especially he was staying up quite late trying to finish all the school work as well as preparing for the final exams before the Christmas break. However, this week's CBC not only made up the lost platelets from two weeks ago but it increased the most by 32,000 and his platelet had entered into the "normal" range. His other counts have all reached the normal ranges, too! What a moment of joy and praise to our God for bringing us to this point.
Last week, he went on his church's Youth group winter retreat where the temperature was sub-freezing, and record-high snow. When he came back he looked good and we could sense that he had a wonderful time there. So, while we were rejoicing to see that his spirit had been soaring and his countenance had been brightening up, this week's news trumped all that.
Once again, you do not know how much strength your partnership in journey means to us as your prayers are at work mightily. Thank you.
This week's devotion on Luke 5:4-6 -- When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch." Simon answered and said, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets." When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break; -- displays how the professional fisherman, Simon (Peter), who had just returned empty-handed from his night operation still listened to the instructions from Jesus (whose profession was a carpenter) to catch an overflowing amount of fish. This week when we found out Ensay's counts overflowing into the normal ranges, we felt like Simon who was completely amazed and fully acknowledged Jesus' authority over this world we live. Yes, Ensay still had to go through various procedures and take the medication, but in the end it is God who provides the necessary blood cells in his body. There are so many questions unanswered (which I'm sure Simon had at the time also) but we are not going to lose focus of God in the midst of trying to find these answers but will acknowledge His authorship and authority of our lives, and every cell in our body.
