Note: I will be starting a new series in here about Hannah going on to St. Olaf College.
I treasure the family vacation trips we took to several locations such as the RV trip to the Grand
Canyon (and back!). Especially watching the pictures we took on the trip brings back the fresh memories we felt together down to the moment of returning home and re-entering the vacated house and feeling, "Oh, it's good to be home!" Well, the latest family trip (although not the whole was on it) shared the similar sentiments except how it ended. We came home with one less person. Our oldest child entered college so mom and I dropped her off there in another state. When the time came for us to fly back home, all three of us felt like we should all return together as usual, but not in this case. It was a weird moment for sure. The key question in my mind was: Have I trained her enough to start this new chapter of her life, all by herself? And to my own amazement, I felt good about saying, "Yes!" not because I covered everything and she mastered it, but because we spent the last 18 years filled with many precious and beautiful moments with her through which I felt confident she will springboard herself into various situations she will face. Additionally, at the core of all this, she found God's amazing love for her which made her to dedicate her life to follow after Jesus -- this will for sure bring her to a place God desires her to be in all situations. I look forward to how God will mold her to be the person He desires. Onward and upward my girl!
2 Timothy 2:1-2 (ESV) -- You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
